About the East Syriac Breviary Project
Our mission is to preserve and make accessible the rich liturgical heritage of the East Syriac tradition through digital technology.
Our Vision
The East Syriac Breviary Project aims to create a comprehensive digital collection of liturgical texts from the three major churches that follow the East Syriac tradition:
- The Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East
- The Chaldean Catholic Church
- The Syro-Malabar Catholic Church
Project Goals
- Digitize and preserve ancient liturgical texts
- Add voice and video recordings of liturgical texts from different traditions
- Make texts accessible to scholars and the faithful worldwide
- Provide accurate and searchable digital editions
- Support research and study of East Syriac liturgy
- Facilitate the preservation of cultural heritage
Current Status
The project is currently in its initial phase, focusing on:
- Developing the digital infrastructure
- Creating the text editor with East Syriac support
- Establishing partnerships with churches and institutions
- Planning the digitization process
Future Plans
In the coming years, we plan to:
- Create a comprehensive digital library
- Support multiple languages and translations
- Implement collaborative features for scholars
