Monday of Ba'ootha d'Ninwayeh Selection from First Qaryana (By Mar Aprim [Saint Ephraim] the Great, Assyrian Teacher) ܡܣܩܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܬܩܢ܆ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܒ̣ܢܝ̈ܢܫܐ. ܕܢܣܩܘܢ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܦܓ̣ܪ̈ܢܐ܆ ܪ̈ܘܚܢܐ ܐܝܟ̣ ܥܠܝ̈ܐ. ܒܟ̣ܠ ܕܪ̈ܓ̣ܝܢ ܡܣܩ ܛܒ̣ܐ܆ ܒܟ̣ܠ ܦܘܪ̈ܣܝܢ ܡܚܬ̣ ܒܝܫܐ. ܗܐ ܒܕܪܓ̣ܗ̇ ܕܒ̣ܬܘܠܘܬ̣ܐ܆ ܒܬܘܠ̈ܐ ܡܣܩ ܠܫܡܝܐ ܀ ܗܐ ܒܕܪܓ̣ܗ̇ ܕܩܕܝܫܘܬܐ܆ ܡܬ̣ܥܠܝܢ ܐܦ ܩܕܝܫ̈ܐ. ܚܙܐ ܒܝܫܐ ܕܒ̣ܟ̣ܠ ܕܪ̈ܓ̣ܝܢ܆ ܦܓ̣ܪܐ ܣܠܩ ܠܫܡܝܐ. ܗܐ ܬܠܐ ܒܗ ܟܠ ܝܘܩܪ̈ܝܢ܆ ܕܡ̣ܢ ܗ̇ܘ ܪܘܡܐ ܢܬ̇ܬܚܬܐ. ܗܐ ܡܣܓ̇ܐ ܠܗ ܥܘܟܪ̈ܐ܆ ܕܢܬ̇ܕ݂ܘܕ݂ ܡ̣ܢ ܡܪܕܝܬܗ܀ A great ladder has God fashioned for humanity. That they might ascend as carnal beings and become spiritual beings as those above. To every rank the one who is good ascends but at every opportunity the evil descend. To the rank of Virgins, behold, the Virgins ascend ܀ Even to the rank of Holiness, behold, those who are Holy ascend. The evil one saw that to every rank in Heaven the [human] body ascended. [And] behold, he burdened it with every weight that he might limit it from attaining that Height. Behold, he increases against it hindrances in order to disturb its course܀ وسلم عظيم والله صنعت للبشرية. التي قد تصعد ككائنات الجسدية وتصبح كائنات روحية مثل تلك المذكورة أعلاه. إلى كل رتبة واحدة وهو يصعد جيدة ولكن في كل فرصة الشر ينزل. إلى رتبة العذارى، هوذا العذارى الارتفاع ܀ حتى إلى مرتبة القداسة، ها، أولئك الذين هم الارتفاع القدس. شهد الشرير أن لكل رتبة في السماء الجسم [الإنسان] صعد.
